Using Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline Costs to Estimate Hydrogen Pipeline Costs
Funded through Hydrogen Pathways Program in 2004
Project Description
This project used data from the construction of natural gas pipelines to better understand how hydrogen pipeline construction cost are likely to depend on length and diameter. The project involved a regression analysis of the cost of pipeline projects over a 13-year period published in Oil and Gas Journal. The costs are broken down into four components: labor, materials, right of way and miscellaneous.
